Not only are you responsible for ensuring that your team is meeting its sales goals, but you are also responsible for maintaining a positive workplace culture. In other words, you need to be able to lead effectively in order to be successful. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to
increase your chances of success as a leader. Here are 10 ways to lead effectively as a CMO: Set the tone for your team. As the leader of your team, it’s important to set the tone for your employees. You should be passionate and enthusiastic about your work, and this should show through in your interactions with them. If you’re not excited about what you’re doing, it’ll be harder to get them excited too. The
best way to set the tone for your team is by example. Show them that you’re passionate about your work and believe in what you’re doing. Be friendly and approachable, and encourage open communication. By setting the right tone, you can create a positive and productive work environment for your team. Be transparent. The importance of transparency in the workplace cannot be overstated. When employees feel like they are in the dark about what is
going on in the company, it breeds mistrust and can lead to disengagement. On the other hand, when employees are kept in the loop about changes and decisions being made, it builds trust and creates a feeling of inclusion. As a leader, it’s important that you take the time to keep your team informed about what is going on in the company. Not only will it create a more positive work environment, but it will also make your team more effective and cohesive.
Delegate tasks. As the saying goes, “There’s only so many hours in a day.” You can’t possibly do everything yourself, so it’s important to delegate tasks to your team members and trust them to complete them effectively. This will not only free up some of your time, but it will also show your employees that you trust their abilities. Of course, delegation isn’t always easy. You may have to let go of some control and relinquish some decision-making power. But remember, your team is
made up of competent individuals who are capable of handle tasks effectively. So go ahead and delegate away! Your employees will thank you for it.
Communicate regularly. One of the most important things you can do as a leader is to communicate regularly with your team members. This way, everyone is on the same page and no one feels left out. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you need to be in constant communication with your team. But you
should touch base regularly, both individually and as a group. This will help to ensure that everyone is aligned and that no one feels left out of the loop. So make sure to communicate often and effectively with your team, and you’ll be on your way to success.
Offer support. As the boss, one of your most important jobs is to offer support to your team. Let them know that you’re available if they need help, but try to avoid standing over their
shoulders all the time. They should feel like they can come to you with questions or concerns without feeling like they’re being micromanaged. Take responsibility. Let’s face it: we all make mistakes. Whether it’s forgetting to put the milk back in the fridge or hitting “reply all” on an embarrassing email, we’ve all been there. And while it can be tempting to try to pass the blame onto someone else,

Reward good work Giving positive feedback is a great way to show appreciation for someone on your team. A little recognition can go a long way in making someone feel appreciated, which is essential for maintaining morale. Make sure to give specific and sincere praise when you see someone on your team doing something well. This will let them know that their efforts are noticed and appreciated. A pat on the back, or a heartfelt “thank you” can make all the difference in someone’s
day. So next time you see someone on your team going above and beyond, make sure to let them know how much you appreciate their hard work!
Lead by example If you want your team to be hardworking, passionate, and successful, make sure you’re setting the right example for them. For instance, if you’re constantly coming in late and taking long lunches, don’t be surprised if your team starts doing the same. Likewise, if you’re putting in extra
hours and going the extra mile, they’ll likely follow your lead. Of course, you can’t control everything they do, but you can definitely set the tone with your own behavior. So if you want to create a winning team, make sure you’re leading by example.
All too many CMOs see themselves as a Napoleon, arms crossed imperiously for their LinkedIn portrait, barking orders from atop their digital white horse to the horseless troops in the rear. Not at
all. Leading from the front is putting yourself first in the line of fire. Like the great leaders throughout history, the CMOs that earn the respect of those who report to them “lead from the front lines,” modeling calculated risk-taking and a shared workload. In other words, they walk the talk and get their hands dirty – in the trenches with their team, rolling up their figurative sleeves to do whatever it takes to win. It’s not about sitting back and
watching others do the work; it’s about being a part of the team and sharing in both the successes and failures. That’s what earns respect. And that’s what true leadership is all about. So if you want to be a respected leader, start leading from the front – today.

Who are you, and what do you do? I’m Dominick Miserandino, I founded TheCelebrityCafe.com the first online magazine ever, and brought it to sale. Since then I ran a few other sites like Inquisitr.com, AdoramaPix, and one or two others. You've been doing "it" for a long time -- did you think the internet would look the way it does today, say 20 years ago? I never envisioned that the internet would look this way. I remember how mind-blowing it was to even work remotely 15 years ago, which is now commonplace. I even remember my first video call for a meeting which is clearly something built straight into iPhones. But, even with all of these changes,
especially with online media and publishing there are some basics in human nature that don’t change. We love reading sensationalism, media is based on eyeballs, and businesses that are run correctly and holistically seem to succeed. These rules have held true since the early days of media even before the internet and hold true now. That’s the one thing that has always made me happy with the changes online. Even though we still have tools that
can do things faster, so many rules have remained the same I might be able to dictate a story when I had to type it, or I could build a site in hours instead of days. That said, the rules still hold true. What is a project you regret doing, and why? Did you learn anything from it? I’ve tried avoiding projects that lead to regret. It’s more the projects that I regretted not doing. There are
times that I wish I started things sooner or took the initiative earlier . I generally don’t fall victim to that and learned a rule to always try things and jump in the water. Sometimes, life gets in the way. Who was the biggest influence on your business career and why? My boss Ed, from when I worked on Wall Street. He taught
me: 1) Get to know people as people. He knew his team and loved his team as a family. We still all keep in touch to this day nearly 30 years later. It made everybody work together to their maximum abilities. 2) He always worked with honesty. It’s something I strive for, to be as honest as I can. |

While McDonald's is stopping short of saying that the McRib will be officially discontinued, this farewell tour could be a sign that the popular menu item is on its way out for good. the sandwich should enjoy it while they can. 7. The Louvre is one of the most famous art museums in the world, housing some of the most iconic paintings and sculptures in history. Now, thanks to a new partnership with Pinterest, users can experience the museum in a whole new way. The activation will enable users to explore the Louvre via video elements within the Pinterest app, providing an immersive way to appreciate the
museum's incredible collection. In addition, users will be able to access exclusive content from The Louvre, including 360-degree tours and behind-the-scenes footage. With this new activation, Pinterest is giving users a unique way to experience one of the world's most iconic museums. 8. Marvel, one of the biggest names in entertainment, has just taken a major step into the world of e-commerce. The company has launched a new app on
Shopify, which allow Shopify merchants to sell licensed Marvel products to their customers. This move is sure to be a big boost for Shopify, who now has another high-profile partner in their ecosystem. For Marvel, this marks another milestone in their overall business evolution and innovation strategy. The app is powered by Mad Engine Global, which first collaborated with Marveo over 20 years ago. With this move, Marvel is sure to reach even more fans around the world. 9.TelevisaUnivision has become the third TV/media company to agree to a multi-year deal with Nielsen's forthcoming, all-encompassing cross-platform measurement service Nielsen One. Under the terms of the deal, which starts January 2023, TelevisaUnivision will have access to Nielsen Marketing Cloud and Gracenote's Advanced Discovery suite. This will allow the company to measure and plan across its national, digital, local and audio affiliates as well as its
streaming service, ViX. The agreement is a significant boost for Nielsen One, which is set to launch in December. Previously, Walt Disney and media agency Magna were signed on to the Nielsen One Alpha launch. With TelevisaUnivision on board, Nielsen One is now positioned as a major player in the cross-platform measurement space. 10. Omnicom Group Inc. (NYSE: OMC) today announced the appointment of Kathleen Saxton as Chief Marketing Officer,
effective January 1. In this new position, Saxton will be responsible for marketing Omnicom’s award-winning capabilities and its omni-channel solutions for global enterprise clients, building on the Company’s success in this area. (READ FULL STORY) 11.The Republican National Committee has filed a lawsuit against Gmail, accusing the email service of deliberately throttling the party's email campaigns as the midterm elections approach. The suit alleges that Gmail has been dumping RNC emails into spam folders, preventing them from reaching their intended recipients. While it's not clear whether the suit has any merit, it highlights the growing issue of email censorship. Previously, the GOP complained to the
Federal Election Commission about what appeared to be unintentional bias in the spam filter algorithms of several major email services. However, the new lawsuit suggests that there may be a more deliberate effort to silence the party's voice. With the midterms fast approaching, it remains to be seen whether this legal challenge will have any impact on the outcome of the election. 12. A recent survey of kids and their parents conducted by
Precise TV and kids’ research firm Giraffe Insights has found that 85% of kids are accessing YouTube. This is the same as in 2021’s survey. The online survey was conducted in June and found that, although reported use of many other media, including subscription-based video-on-demand (SVOD), gaming and broadcast TV, have declined since the April 2021 survey, TikTok and going to movie theaters (now that they’re open again) are among the few that have upticked. The survey also finds kids
twice as likely to recall ads on YouTube than any other platform — although the YouTube recall percentage declined by seven points from 2020 to 2021. These findings suggest that YouTube remains a popular platform among kids, despite the rise of other platforms such as TikTok. 13. 5W Digital, the in-house digital agency of 5W Public Relations, has launched an email marketing division to help companies execute their email strategy. The
goal is to help clients create unique and conversion-driven email campaigns, says Jonathan Mark, executive vice president of 5W Digital. Mark notes that email marketing is a very effective way to connect with customers and share news about your company, special promotions, product updates, and build long-term relationships. Founded by Ronn Torossian 20 years ago, 5W Public Relations is a New York City-based PR agency comprised of more than 300 professionals. 5W Digital is comprised of
specialists within specific areas of digital marketing. With the launch of the new email marketing division, 5W Digital will be able to provide even more comprehensive services to its clients. 14. Every year, IBM releases a global holiday shopping and travel report that details how people plan to spend their money during the holiday season. This year's report, released on Monday, revealed some interesting shifts in behavior that are being
influenced by sustainability, the economy, and the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the biggest changes is that people are planning to do more shopping online and less traveling. This is partly due to fears about the pandemic, but it's also because more and more people are becoming conscious of the environmental impact of air travel. With less travel and more shopping happening online, businesses are looking toward technology to support an improved customer experience. Although there is some
